Thank you for your thoroughness.  It sometimes might seem like overkill
to do all that for one changed word, but just today I was reading the
part of "Code Complete 2" by Steve McConnell where he says about making
changes safely and small changes being more error-prone than large ones:

   The moral is simple: treat simple changes as if they were
   complicated.
