That's okay.
There's lots of open ticket for anytime that you do have time for
hacking, and some of those are trivially easy.
http://xmlroff.org/wiki/GettingInvolved lists the open ticket that have
keywords indicating the skills that you can use: xmlroff involves a lot
more than just C code.

Since I reported about 58/60 of the tickets and I also subscribe to
xmlroff-ticket, I don't need a second notification from each ticket. I
have, however, thought about enabling always_notify_reporter and then
changing my listed email address to be that of the xmlroff-ticket
mailing list.
As it is, I just got two notifications of your change to #49.
